Almost everyone has a disease, disorder or condition that runs in the family. They are passed down genetically from parents to their children. In fact, there are over 6,000 known genetic disorders. ML4 is a genetic disorder in children that severely impairs their abilities. ML4 children cannot walk and talk, however, they are amazingly receptive and affectionate. The ML4 Foundation is committed to providing funds for medical research for ML4. Since the ML4 Foundation’s inception, the chromosome has been located and researchers at Harvard Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health are working furiously to find the gene responsible for this disorder. With this genetic information, we are hoping for a treatment or a cure. This research will also provide scientists with techniques and information to cure many other genetic disorders.
